Overview

Unione Nord Est (North-East Union)

The Unione Nord Est is a regional party in Veneto, founded in 1996. It advocates an enlarged autonomous region Veneto, including Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige. It currently holds one seat in the regional parliament.
The party symbol shows a map of the three current regions to be united, governed by the Lion of Saint Mark, together with the party name and an arrow indicating the north-east direction. The flag is vertical (which is uncommon in Italy), shows the symbol in the center on a white field, and blue stripes in top and in bottom; the top stripe shows the white inscription "VOTA A NORDEST" (Vote for the North-East), the bottom stripe the white inscription "UN NOME UN PROGRAMMA" (One name, one program) [1].
